Hi All,
I want to know if practically possible modifying the KU LNB to detect uplink signals from near vsat stations.
As i think the uplink frequency range from 13.75-14.5Ghz, and
my idea is changing the DRO to oscilate -for example- on 12.8Ghz so the IF will range from 0.950-1.7Ghz.
is it possible or not
Regards,,

Probably could. You would have to change the LO frequency almost 2 ghz though. That means a new DRO puck. You can not tune the puck that far. May have to retune the LNA front end too.
A lot of those LNBs have dual polarization swtch control. That probably will not make the frequency transition as easily, as it is a bg frequency change.
