USB - RS232 - RF Would this work?
I would like to generate a 'tunnel' between PC and a USB fingerprint scanner module. I was hoping to acheive this by using USB - RS232 bi directional adapter and the transmitting with RF, then receiving with RF and converting back from RS232 to USB. Is this system feasible? and is there enough fedility to function effectively?
Thank you for you time.
Yes, its feasible.
There are USB-to-RS232 converter modules out there which you can use. Transmit the data via RF module and read it on the other side by RF receiver.
Good luck
there are bluetooth rs232 devices available, I think it can very easily be used.
Hey thanks your reply, Ive just realized that he module is streaming a live video image of the print to the software, should I be concerned about the data rates involved here, I know the device is USB1.1 & USB2.0 compatible which would suggest data rates of 12Mbps max. Can a simple RF transceiver handle this? Cant seem to find one online.
Thanks guys
