Hi, Does anyone know a simple method of estimating a maximum power an antenna can handle ? I don't need a precise value, an estimate is enough.
My antenna is gonna work in 1.5GHz band and I want to know what wwould be a max power for a few different types of antennas. (1/4 wavelength , yagi, biquad) All antennas are gonna be "homemade". I need them to work with 200W power amp.

you can see intensity of electric field on your structure and considering 3000000volts/meter arcing threshold calculate max power handling of structure (usually maximum strength of field happens on sharp edges or vertices). another factor is your conductor loss that heats the structure and should consider power rating below the power can deform structure.
You must also consider the reflected power. You need to determine the S11 or VSWR and calculate how much power is reflected back, 200W amp is significant.
