how work "hm-r"and "hm-t"?

how can i work with "data" pin in hm-r and hm-t?
i wanna send 4 signal and and then control 4 IGBT (in receiver) with them.
i wanna use them in tiny robot , any IC els we need after receiver for decoding ?

my major is control and i dont know any thing about RF and communication , please help me completely.
