when an analog modulated (phase modulation) is received and demodulated
at the receiver end ,the recovered modulating signal gets distorted, what is the general specification for the acceptable distortion( in %)?
What are the major causes of distortion of tone signal? If I am phase modulating
my 4GHz carrier with audio signals, and to asses the quality I am feeding the transmitter o/p directly to a receiver equipment ( say a modulation analyzer),
how much distortion is expected in such a case?
Right now I see 5 % distortion at 4GHz.
and 10% at 12GHz( the same 4GHz signal is multiplied to get 12GHz)
