Interfacing RF Transceiver with ATMega

Hello.
I want to interface a RF Transceiver with AVR Series MCU. I have no experience on RF Transceiver. The RF Transceiver is ZL70250, which is a very small chip. I want to do the interfacing code only, not need to develop the hardware now.

Can any one give me idea how to interface ATMel MCU with any RF Transceiver?
I need to do the code for developing both Transmitting & Receiving end. The project will be like below:

(AVR MCU+Transmitter) ---> Air media ---> (Receiver+AVR MCU) ---> LED on/off

Is it possible to simulate RF Transceiver with Proteus? Or in any other simulation tool?
Need urgent suggestion please. Thanks.
