delayed AGC in communication receiver

Delaying the onset of the AGC voltage allows for the receiver to operate at maximum gain for very small signals. If the AGC was not "delayed", the sensitivity of the receiver could be reduced by the noise generated either internally or picked up by the aerial.

The AGC is basically a feedback system and a delay introduced inside of the feedback loop, also would increase the stability.
