Help LM741 ground connection, what is it?

Hi I am using op amp LM 471 to amplify and not invert a signal vpp 70 mvolts, 25MHZ (from an oscilator). One of the pins on the op amp should be connected to 'Ground' but I am using a normal 9V battery with + and - terminals to power the oscillator and op amp, how do I create the ground? Is it necessary?

Thanks.

The - terminal is the ground of OpAmp. You should make good connections between the - terminal and the OpAmp Ground using ground plane.

The 741 needs a +- power supply so its earth pin needs to be about halfway between the + and - power lines. In your case get two equal value resistors connect one end of each one to your + and - battery terminals and call the centre connection of the resistors "earth". 741s normally need more then +-4.5 Volts to make them work properly, look at their data sheet.

don't waste your time. lm741 does not have a prayer of working at 25 MHz

Agreed ... you want something like a OP27 series (40MHz bandwidth) or something like a LT1007 series (60MHz bandwidth)
