A question on radiation resistance.

时间:04-07 整理:3721RD 点击:
I feel I should know this, so I am a bit embarassed asking this question but here goes...

Antenna gain is often referred to as 'noiseless gain' but does the radiation resistance of an antenna have thermal noise associated with it?
If it does, why, in the various formulae for the radiation resistance of specific antenna types (dipole, monopole, loop etc), do they not have an absolute temperature term?

Thanks

people use and misuse terminology all the time. Normally "radiation resistance" only applies to the equivalent resistance caused by radiation into free space, and does NOT include conductor loss, dielectric loss, ground loss, etc.
