HF VCO 1.6-30MHz schematic needed
I cannot find any schematics out there...
Not an easy thing to do due to the bandwidth. The circuit can become complicated. Do you have the room/S for switched resonator approach?
Single VCO's will not tune 1 MHz to 30 MHz without switching tuning elements. You will need to use a VCO that will tune say 50-79 MHz and down convert by mixing with a crystal osc of 49MHz
Of course, you can design a wide band VCO based on a variable relaxation oscillator principle, similar to a 4046 VCO. But I guess, you won't be satified with it's phase noise? Unfortunately, you said 1.6 - 30 MHz without a full specification.
DDS can be a solution..
Of course If PN requirement is not tight...
see this. http://neazoi.com/lnoscil.htm
A switched crystal approach could be a solution if you have many crystals. Dead steady in frequency and ultra low phase noise.
Also this, if you prefer a vfo. http://neazoi.com/20KHz-65MHzSineOsc...MHzSineOsc.htm
Referring to the presented circuits, the original specification seems rather misleading. Because everyone expected 1.6 to 30 MHz as a tuning range ...
They can be used for 1.6-30MHz plus more range dependent on the crystals/coils. Wide range oscillators can be tricky on HF
