maximum radiation from the slots

im making airborne antenna. so can somebody tell me that how i can specify the correct measurement of slots in the waveguide,means wats is the formula or method with which i can get the maximum radiation from the slots by having slots at that particular place...i have studied about 25 DB taylor distribution but i cud not understand that.
