Need Information regarding Manufacturer's Key in RF remote control systems.

I am doing a project on RKE systems, using HCS encoders (301)/ decoders (512). I intent to use a
RF Remote Control confirming to HCS 301 which is readily available in the market. I am currently
designing the receiver decoder based on HCS 512.
I am guessing the Serial Number is provided by the RF Remote Control vendor however not sure , if the vendor also provides the Manufacturer's code. I looked the HCS 512 documentation and found that Manufacturer's code is very much required for generation the Crypt key using Keyloq algoritm.
can some one details on whether the serial number and manufactures code is provided while buying a RF remote control . can some share more knowledge general guidelines for implementing security in RKE systems.
