hi, everyone..
these days I studied about photonic crystal with the book named [Photonic Crystal : Molding the Flow of Light] : J. D. Joannopoulos..(maybe 1st. ed)
at page 26 ~ 28, there are the problem about CTS system, infinite plane of glass.
in this system master equation becomes,
d/dz(1/ε(z) * dΦ/dz) = (ky^2/ε(z) - ω^2/c^2)Φ --- eq.1
and then if ω < cky
ω^2/c^2 -> ky^2/ε + (n^2*pi^2)/εa^2 --- eq.2
and there is graph about w/c and ky
i don't understand how eq.2 obtained from eq.1
please someone explain this to me..
and that w-k diagram can be obtained by Matlab?
