question about EBG in HFSS

时间:03-31 整理:3721RD 点击:
I want to get the reflection phase of EBG structures in HFSS (attention:not CST)
the problem is :i know little about HFSS...
is it possible to get what i want for an EBG unit with Master/Slave boundary?
or some other ways to get that?
need your suggestions. many thanks!

u may use E walls and H walls as CST prodecure
search here about EBG using HFSS and CST

thanks for your reply.
another question :why do u use E walls and H walls instead of periodic boundaries?

Peopple often use PEC/PMC walls due to its simplicity, short simulation time, and easy post-processing. You directly have the magnitude and phase of S11 (reflection) and S21 (transmission).
However, you can also use Master/Slave as BC(PBCs), but the simulation time is much longer (you can not use fast sweep in this case), and you have to manually process the fields at a certain height and then compute magnitude and phase. And if you need oblique incidence, Master/Slave is the only way.
My advice is that you may start with PEC/PMC and then try to move to Master/Slave.

I forgot to say that you have a PEC/PMC example at, posted by myself some time ago but still useful: https://www.edaboard.com/viewtopic.p...228&highlight=
