HFSS Optimetrics Tutorial for Coax

I'm a new HFSS user I'm Simulating a coax. coupled resonator, i need to vary the distance of a copper box underneath the end part of the resonator ( I will attach a pic. showing the structure), and i need to have a freq. sweep for each distance value. Is this possible, i know how to vary the distance (by adding a variable for the z-co-ordinate) but I'm not sure if it is possible to have also a freq. sweep. So if anyone can help me that will be great thanks a lot.

first of all what version of HFSS are you using?

- You should be able to do both a frequency sweep and optimetrics (variation) at the same time.

1 - set the analysis set up. create a new solution, and choose your solution frequency.
2 - Add a sweep under that solution setup you just created. Hierarchically, you see solution under analysis, and sweep under solution.

3 - your distance should referenced as a variable. for distance height, put a character or phrase to represent the variable.

4 - go to optimetrics, and create parameter sweep. i believe it is the first one. Set up your parameter with the wanted number of points.
and run.

I'm using HFSS v.9
does it do the freq. sweep for each distance?

it should.

you may use tune tool too. set a variable for distance ant with including sweep start for tune..

so how did you get it done? i am interested to know if you succeeded or not?

actually I only tried to do it with the parametric optimetrics and it didn't work I can choose the ''setup:Sweep1'' and choose only one freq. so I did it in the long way I made individual projects for different distances. I have not tried the tuning tool

can anybody upload the complete tutorial on optimetric regarding patch antena......its may be helpfull ...[plz
