E-field around a straight wire in CST

I have a pretty simple question, as I'm still pretty new to CST.
I want to look at the E-field surrounding a straight insulated wire (just copper with a Teflon insulating coating) within a dielectric material (sea water, for example). The trouble I'm having is how to excite the wire. I want to use a discrete port so I can control the voltage input, but how can I connect the two ends of the wire with a discrete port?
The wire is 10 cm in length, and if I try to directly connect the ends with a discrete port, the simulator complains that the port is within PEC and fails.
Any help would be much appreciated! If need be, I can supply pictures/files of my setup.
Thanks!
