how many lumped networks per wavelength

is there a rule of thumb, how many lumped RLCG networks do I need to
regive the behaviour of one wavelength transmission line ?

I have read somewhere one lump per 1/10 wavelength but I don't have a reference. This makes sense though since the classic RF rule of thumb is lumped approximations if it's less than 1/10 wavelength.
