fanout对timing的影响

more fanout : routing long--> more RC for this net including the couple
more ourput loading (each input with a cap)
more transition time. (charge the bigger cap).
And cell delay relate with input transition and output loading.
Then the cell delay is bigger.(Both this cell and the cells driven by it)

max fanout设个25吧。不解fanout的话单元的delay能达到几个ns了 。

我之前遇到的一个设计，前端给的sdc中没有设max fanout，也没跟我说要设多大的max fanout。看了关于setup的帖子，很多说到setup与fanout有关。所以在此向大家求教，跟大家讨论一下。

std cell 的delay和input_transiton和output_load有关。
fanout太大，就带不动后级逻辑，也就是后级逻辑的input_transtion time会变得很大，这严重增大这个单元的延迟啊！（你可以看看lib库中的lookup table表）。
所以要设这个约束的，目的就是降低后级逻辑的input_transtion，将delay放在合理的范围。
