Error Message
The procedure entry point iCmDictPIAddRedsDictionaryFlag could not be located in the dynamic link library consmgr.dll.
Problem
I have multiple versions of the SPB tools installed on my machine. When I double click a .dra, .brd or a .pad file, it does not open and fails with the error message shown above. It was working fine in previous versions.
Solution
Delete the file association from Windows Explorer for DRA, BRD and PAD. Cadence switch release utility takes care of the file association with various releases.
My Computer > Tools > Folder Options > "File Types" tab > delete the DRA/BRD/PAD from the Registered File Types. If the option is not enabled, select the Reset button and then delete the file extensions.
Add these options in "Cadence SPB Switch Release" utility.
1. Start > All Programs > Cadence SPB Switch Release
2. Select the File Association button on the window
3. Add the following entries for BRD, PAD and DRA.
For BRD file
File Extension =brd
Default Program = %CDSROOT%\tools\pcb\bin\allegro.exe
For DRA file
File Extension = dra
Default Program = %CDSROOT%\tools\pcb\bin\allegro.exe
For PAD file
File Extension = pad
Default Program = %CDSROOT%\tools\pcb\bin\pad_designer.exe
4. Select Add/Update After entering the File Extension and Default Program values.
Note: File association can also be done by importing the file association specified in a text file. To import the file association, select "Import" on the File association dialog box. The txt file could be specified in the format as shown below:
==================File Format================
brd "%CDSROOT%\tools\pcb\bin\allegro.exe"
dra "%CDSROOT%\tools\pcb\bin\allegro.exe"
dsn "%CDSROOT%\tools\capture\capture.exe"
mdd "%CDSROOT%\tools\pcb\bin\allegro.exe"
pad "%CDSROOT%\tools\pcb\bin\pad_designer.exe"
olb "%CDSROOT%\tools\Capture\Capture.exe"
opj "%CDSROOT%\tools\capture\capture.exe"
============================================
Use Switch Release to switch to the required release.
Try to invoke files by double clicking them and they will directly open in the respective tool.
