How many receive channel in Transceiver?

Hi,

How knows how many receive channels in wireless CDMA phone?
I was told there are 2 receive channels and one transmit channel in MOST GSM and CDMA phone set. the reason there are 2 receive channels is that One is regular receiver, and the second is for detection of multiuser and power control purpose.

Does anybody know such architecture and detail building block in more detail?[/u]

When you know some knowledge of GSM or CDMA protocol, U will understand.

The packets have different bits used for different purposes. One of the bits is for the transmitter to tell the transmitter at the other end of the link to raise or lower power based on its receiver experiencing bit errors that are almost high enough that they cannot be corrected. Most of the bits are for voice transmission.
