How to treat DCfeed&DCblock?
Thank you very much!
Hi liuzhili,
it depends on the frequency your application is working on. DC blocks and feeds can not simply be removed or your application won't work correctly! For low frequencies (below 500MHz) they can be replaced by inductors and capacitors. The inductor should have an XL of some 100Ohms and the capacitor should be about 100pF.
For higher frequencies you have to use printed DC blocks and lambda/4 lines. These can be calculated with several tools (e.g. AppCAD from Agilent).
Bye
the DC feed and DC block are components for system level testing and they are ideal.
you need to replace those by DC decoupling network (like 1/4 wavelength transimssion line followed by a few caps) or for lower frequencies replace it with inductor in series and cap (or caps) to ground...
I highly recommend that not to use DC feed and DC block for simulating shcematics for a circuit level design. Use it only when doing very initial simulation and during system level testing...
Cheers...
