Hi !
Im looking for some simple WLAN transverter project.
Some profesional device you can see at:

Idea is to use cheap WLAN PCI or PCMCIA cards as base
transceiver and transverter mounted near antenna.
Frequencies in any amateur SHF band, of course higher than 2g4.
Like 2g4 to 3g4 and higher, up to 10Ghz.
Any idea for home project ?

I'm interested in such things too (for ham radio use)... Here is some more information (not yet completely built projects, but...)

I thinked about using bluetooth modules with CSR chipset as a core for a cheap P2P serial link for 1.2 GHz band (BC02E chip have a provision to use separate receiver input and transmitter output (for external LNA/PA) - this could simplify schematics). But for now this is an idea only - no access to development software (bcore/bsuite). May be need to tweak at lower levels of BT stack also...
