These things are useless. The telephone instrument has been optimized already since battery life is a big selling point. This reminds me of the rash of ads for a dielectrid sphere to put on the end of a car antenna. In dry climates there is static discharge on the antenna which makes radio noise that ruins reception, but in areas where you do not drive on sand it is of no use.
