8-12GHz BPF Design
Hello all,
I need to design this filter:
passband:8-12G,RL<3dB,rip<2dB;
stopband:16-24,attenuation<-40dBc
I have tried some times with microstrip structure, but performance in stopband is poor.
Can you give me some advice? Thanks very much!
Anybody has worked out similar filter?
I didn't work on similar filter, but did you try eliptic response? Microstrip filter is a very wide description on what you have tried! By the way, there is a very good book available for download at Elektroda,
Hong, Lancaster: Microstrip Filters for RF/Microwave Applications

The BW is 40 % of CF.
Try cascading a LP and HP filter. An isolation amplifier between them might be necessary.
flyhigh:Thank you for your information.
GaAs FET:You suggestion is very good!
I have change my design.I deside to replace the BPF by a LPF!
And mwo simulation results is just ok!
I will make board to check its real performance!
flyhigh,
pls tell me the path of that book on this web.
I failed to find it!
I did a search on this site and found this address

I suggest you use interdigital filter.
It can has a bandwith of 40%.
And you can add a LP filter after it .
Good Luck.
You can use: G.Matthaei,L.Young "Microwave filters, impedance-matching networks, and coupling structures". The book is in the attachment module.
