mixing signal with RF carrier

hello
suppose that i have a 1.3 GHZ carrier as the output from a PLL

and i have asource of data and i want to modulate it with this carrier
the data bandwidth is 2 MHZ

is it possible to mixthem one time ? i didnt find such an ic to mix them ?
any suggestions ?

thank u vmuch

One option is to modulate the VCO, that is part of your PLL.

If you just mix them and supposing that all the elements are linear, at the output you will have the same 2 MHz and 1,3 GHz.
It depend on wich type of modulation you need, the circuits can be very different.
For example you can modulate the 1,3 GHz with a diode mixer, with an attenuator, modulating directly the VCO voltage, etc, having different modulations.
If you can give us more info you will have more help.

Mandi

the data source is modulated by biphase shift keying//

the output of the vco is 1.3 GHZ

i want to mix them to produce a signal 1.3G (+/-) 1 MHZ...
ithink its very simple...
no modulation technique is required .. just mixing
