has anyone used spice model of an srd to design comb gen using HB analysis.
if yes please advice
I was waiting to see if anyone would respond with positive results. I guess not. I had tried a number of simulations over the years with various programs, all with poor corelation to the real world. I think that, especially in a comb generator, you have to model the very long carrier recombination time accurately, as that is what gives you the impulse in current to cause the comb in frequency. Harmonic balance does not seem to be well suited to modelling such an event.
i totally agree with u. the best way to do it is put together the ckt prototype n try to optimize it on bench using different dioides with different recovery n transistion time. genesys new version 2004 has one additional module called as AMk (advanced modelling kit) using Verilog A. i found a paper on their website which uses HB simulation using AMK modeling. Have u used it?
