slotline design
I wanna design a slotline and I don't have the analytical equations, i have already those for microstripline but not for the slotline.
so if there is some one help me to get the slotline's equations that will be great.
thanks in advence.
I suggest u make use of the Microwave EDA software such as ADS to help u calculate the physical parameters of the slotline. It is a very fast and easy process
Hi,
sorry but I couldsn't find slotline in @DS. There are some equations, I will try to find them and post for you.

Hi,
The free TXLINE from AWR can be used to calculate your slotline.

thanx for the replies but I dont want to use softwares like txline because they have some limitations and I really want the analytical equations because I'm designing a slot antenna.
Hi,
I think this will help

is w (w/h) in extr-1.pdf referse to the slotline gap?
because usually w is assigned to the strip width and G to the slotline gap.
Hi,
this is the picture. Sorry I did not include it previously.

you can refer the "Microstrip Lines and Slotlines " or
"Coplanar Waveguide Circuits Components & Systems"
or you can search IEEE paper may get all information....
Hi,
I posted equations from Microstrip lines and Slotlines

Hi all,
thanx for your help, I wonder if anyone can provide me with the analytical equations for designing a tapered slotline for ex: Z0=f(G, Er, h,..) with G is the gap of the slot and Er relative permetivitty.
Regards.

Hi
I hope it help you.
and you can do it in ads

Hi all,
I already have these papers, thanx to plasma anyway but I still wanna the analytical equations for designing the tapered slotline and here is my problem:
I wanna design a tapered slotline wich has the impedance at the open end equal to the intrinsic impedance of the air wich is 377 ohm so this tapere slotline can radiate with minimal reflection.
Best.

Is someone design it on FR4 board?
I did it but it was big difference to simulation result.....
Hi starchern,
actually I do it on a substrat wich has the folowing parameterse:
h= 0,328 mm
Epsilonr = 2.5
thickness of the metal t = 17 micronmetre
losses tan(delta) = 0,0009.
you mean that in your design you had defferences between mesurment and simulation result?
what software have you used in the simulation?
- momentum slotline port
- what is the best software to simulate slotlines
- How to design microstrip-to-slotline transition over a wide band?
