What types of antennas are used in satellite S-band TT&C?

why fix microstrip, can't it be repointable microstrip?
if yes then what problems we then be facing, excluding the complex pointing mechanism, I read some where that polarization pointing loss is different from polarization loss, how significant it will be when our antenna is fixed and ground antenna be pointable, I think repointable antenna will impart some positve change.
