HFSS, simulate an antenna

i have some question about HFSS software:
how define a waveport for stripline in HFSS? what's size of its width & length?
how define a radiation?
what's symmetry?

Download the materials related with HFSS 9. One among them:

In this tutorial see the "Tutorial 3" which describes how to build a microstrip antenna with stripline and with a port, etc.

But in neither of the examples or tutorials they won't say why the length, width of the stripline, patch will be x inches... You have to design these stuff by yourself. Mostly theoretically. They may only say radiation boundary should be at least 0.25 lambda away from the radiator etc. This kind of things.
