How is Femlab for antenna calculations?
I would prefer a SW that resembles the ones I have been using before. Now I have glanced at Femlab as a possible candidate. Anyone have had any experience using that SW for antenna applications?
(Wants to calculate S-parameters, radiation diagram etc. for a wide range of antenna types.)
hello,
femlab is entirely different than cst mws or hfss. femlab is a general pde solver using finite elements. you will have to program in it a lot for using this software for your purposes.
if I am not mistaking, radiation pattern & s-parameters calculation is not present in femlab. you will have to program this yourself. this reflects to the femlab edition of about 1.5 years ago.
best regards.
In my humble opinion, you're wasting your time learning some new software to do this thing.
Open HFSS, click on search, type in script or macro, and you're on your way to manipulate any design parameters you want. The same things can be said if you want to manipulate any other plot parameters (S-par, impedance, radiation patterns).
For ppt slides, go to ansoft.com, click on search, type macro and presentation.
