problem in CDMA channel
1)Forward Traffic Channel
2) Paging channel
3) Pilot channel
4) synchronization channel
and
5)Reverse Traffic channel
6)Access Channel

Hi:
when a MS(mobile station) want to contact with another MS , or some one want to contact with a MS from PSTN(Public switching telephone network) . It must contact with a BS(base station) at firs and then contact to MS by means of BS.
in this procedure some applications and reply should do .
at first: subscriber apply from BS a Traffic channel request .
second: the BS check the number of subscriber and then page the another subscriber in local area.
syncronization alarms transmit by BS during these procesures peridically to sincronize the MS .
each channel has a special code which is different to the other.
good luck

The forward link uses several logical channels:
-The Pilot channel modulates a constant symbol and is used for channel estimation, which allows for coherent demodulation of the other channels that carry information bits.
-The Sync channel is used for providing synchronization and configuration information to the mobile stations.
-The Paging channels are used for control information and sending paging messages to the mobile station.
-The Traffic channel carries the speech or data.
The reverse link has the Traffic and Access logical channels:
-The Access channel is meant for control information, and is used for originating requests, responding to paging and other messages, or providing other data to the base station.
-The Traffic channel carries the speech or data. The Traffic channel supports variable data rate operation. According to the J-STD-008 requirement, there are two sets of Traffic channel data rates. Rate Set I has a maximum data rate of 9.6 kbps, whereas Rate Set II has a maximum data rate of 14.4 kbps. Both rate sets support full, half, quarter, and eighth rates with respect to the maximum data rate.
In CDMA , there are 2 types of logical channels. Traffic and Control.
Traffic channels:- These are the channels on which user data ( which can be \voice or Data) are transmitted. Forward traffic channel carry data from Base station to mobile ( i.e forward link) and Reverse Traffic Channel carry data from Mobile to Base Station (i.e. reverse link).
Control Channel:- Pilot, Sync, Paging and Access channels come into this category. Control channels carry signalling between base station and Mobile station which is required for Call setup, Handoff, power control, call teardown, Sending and receiving SMS, network identifiaction and synchronisation, registration and so on. Vfone has briefly specified the job of each channel above.
Important:- Pilot channel exist in reverse link also in CDMA 2000 which was not present in IS-95 CDMA systems. Also Quick Paging channel (QPCH) has also been introduced.
