Can I design a microstrip antenna on ordinary Cupper board?
Can I know the c/cs of certain cupper board and use it to make a microstrip or "P.a.t.c.h antenna"? how can i do that task?
Thanks in advance,
Ahmad,
for sure u can
but u must know the εr of the substarte and then u can simulate it using any EM simulator , and simply fabricate it
wish this help u

Because that i made this post,
I have an ordinary cheap Cu board, and i don't have any documentations for it, How can i measure practically and easily its εr, and accordingly made the design?
Thanks for help,
Ahmad,
one very easy way , and not acurate , just measure the DC capacitance of the board , from the capaciatance u can get the εr
more accurate way , is use a microstrip resonator , and measure the resonance frequency , from this frequency with the known dimessions of the resonator u can get the εr , but this requires a VNA to measure the resonsce frequency
u can use the frist method as a crude approximation

In most of case, you don't need to measure the εr by yourself, just know what kind of copper board you are used, and it will very easy to get the related infomation.

How can i konw the type of that cupper board?
It may have no known type, that's the problem, hence, i have to characterize it by myself..
Thanks,
Ahmad,
