Displaying Images on a Mini TV/Nonitor

What does a Video signal look like on a Scope?
Should all Video signals look the same?
How do i correct a video signal so it appears ok on my Screen.
It appears to have the correct DC level,but the signal Boms out every couple of seconds,
Is there any way i can clean up a Vidoe signal.
