cc1010

Hi all,

I am working on a project which is designed for RF communication.
The board is having chipcon's CC1010, along with the rf circuit, giga Antenna,
I have two similar boards,
Need to establish the communication between the two.
For that I am writing the code, for one board as transmitter and other board as receiver.
I am calling library functions in code, which are defined in hallib_small lib file. provided by chipcon.
But still not able to establish the communication.
I am using RF Studio, to get the calibration information for different RF frequencies.
If anybody has the experiencing of working with CC1010, RF communication, please guide me.
What can be the reason, what are the things need to considered for RF communication?

Any suggestions are welcome.

With regards,

kalpana

Hello!

Use a spectrum analyzer to see if you are sending at the desired frequency. Measure the exact sending frequency in CW mode. Use a preamble of at least 24 bit, 32 bit is better (use code S55 for preamble).
Use sync word SD391 as descibed in the manual (transmit LSB first, low byte first), then send your data.

Check transmission power with spectrum analyzer. Don't use too much power otherwise the signal will be distorted. Use a receiver with wideband option to demodulate the transmitted signal and observe the signal at a scope. You should see your bits going over the air. A Motorola / General Dynamics R2600CNT works pretty good for that job.

I am using CC1020 at 868 MHz. This chip has severe problems with selectivity far off the QRG. Near selection is pretty good, but for far selectivity additional filters are required.
