the best range of stability factor K in LNA design?

Anybody who can tell me the best range of stability factor K in LNA design?
In other forum,I found that the best range of stability factor K in LNA design is between 1 and 3 (1<K<3),but I don't know why?
k>1 i know ,but I can understand why they suggest that the K will be better under 3?
