Spurious signals are Undesired signals. It is an unintended and unwanted
output signal on a frequency other than the fundamental signal frequency. It can be generated by faulty modulation, amplification, and/or oscillationSpurious signals can be considered in two classes: 1) Stationary, that is, their frequency and amplitude do not change significantly, 2) Non-stationary, where the frequency and/or amplitude change significantly over short time periods.

Spurious signals are best detected in the frequency domain using spectrum analysis. Spikes in the time domain are best seen using digitizers with appropriate sampling and trigger facilities.

Harmonics of a signal are signals which are related to the original (or fundamental) by an integer (non decimal) number. A pure tone signal has no harmonics; it consists of only one single frequency.

harmonics are frequencey products of the signals modulating, for the most part.
spurious is the contents of noise not associated to this product.
