about the analysis of LNA

dear all,
i am learning the design of LNA using the book written by thomas lee.when analyzing the noise parameters of CMOS LNA,it ignores the flicker noise. why can we ignore the flicker noise?because it dominates in the low frequency?

yeah , but also for simplicity , but if u want to analyze the noise of the LNA , u should include all componnets

but in oscillators u cann't ignore the flicker noise , coz this noise will dominate the close is phase noise of the oscillator

yes，a lna which output 1Ghz signal will never be afraid of some noise located at several ten Mhz, few harmonic upconvertion is made by a small-signal lna.

I agree that flicker noise only becomes a problem when designing baseband circuits and oscillators which upconvert the 1/f noise into phase noise. E.g. 1/f noise can be a big problem for CMOS zero-IF receivers after downconversion.
