how to build fm tuner circuit

hi all,
hope all of u can gimme a hand in this..i was tryin to make my own fm radio/ tuner and i really dunno where to start. there are so many ways of designing the circuit and i'm confused. what is the method to use in designin the fm tuner? i bought a cheap fm tuner for 5 pound and i dun understand the circuit inside...so please help me in this..many thanks...cheers...
