Research Proposal that covers both System integration and High Frequency Electronics

Dear all,

I am planning to write a research proposal for a PhD application. But I have a problem in finding a suitable topic for it. I am mainly looking for a topic which deals or covers both System integration (SOC, GALS etc.) and High Frequency Electronics. Do you know of any area, applications or problems which can be probed and researched further ?
