Anechoic Chamber for 900MHz up to 2.4GHz

I am going to build a 1.2mX1.2mX1.8m anechoic chamber.
The RF absorbant will have almost 40dB insertion loss for 2.4GHz.
I saw thre are some knowledgeable guys here on the forum and I have some questions.

1. how far I have to locate my antenna under test from the back plane to avoid errors ? One lambda, or 2 lambdas ? or more ?
Well, the same question for the transmitting antenna ? Is enough a wavelength distance ?

2. where to find good (but not expensive) antennas for measurements ( I assume for calibration I need 2 identical antennas ). Simple dipoles will be enough ?
What about the balun ? That should be a big question mark. I have no idea how to make that sleeve balun. I heard is the best way to go from balanced to 50 ohm coaxial cable.

3. I am going to use a VNA for measurements. A computer will be linked to VNA using GPIB and another link to a simple step by step motor used for the positioner.
I need a software to corelate the reading from VNA every time my motor move another (let say) 5degree. Where can I find that software?

4. Plotting ? Any idea of software, or just excel spread sheet ?

5. do I need to place ferrite beads on the RF coax cables to avoid RF propagation ground currents ?

Well, I think I am asking too much already and I don't want to upset people around.
Thank you in advance for all comments and ideas !

hi,

well that a tough one.

I know that SIEPEL, leading provider of such product have used simulaiton software (MICROSTRIPES)

here is the link

hope it can help u
