Which of them are better in performance ,is there any difference ?

I want to select PLL from ADI or national semi ,which of these companies produce better PLL chips?(frequency synth.)

u can't say that , which one is better , u must select two specific chips working in the same frequency band , and have almost the same applications

and then compare between the via performance , simplicity and so on

i have seen the PLL line on analog devices is very good , with very broad options

I tend to like Analog Device because:

1) They provide the ADISimPLL software for free. I actually bought the SimPLL and it is very nice.

2) The have full synthesizers as opposed to just PLLs. Looks like National just came out with some but they don't offer full coverage to 3 GHz.

3) I like Analog Devices data sheets. They tend to be more detailed than other companies. For instance they usually show the internals connected to each pin.
