Respected sir,
I am Jayanthi, final year M.Tech in N.I.T Trichy. i need the radiation pattern details about PIFA. i have simulated one PIFA and it covers ISM, bluetooth band of frequencies. At theta=60deg iam getting nearly omni -directional radition pattern with average gain of about 0.5 dB and peak gain at theta=60deg is 2.5dB. At theta=0deg iam getting nearly omni -directional radition pattern with average gain of about-10 dB and peak gain at theta=0deg is -10.5dB.At theta=90deg iam getting nearly omni -directional radition pattern with average gain of about -16dB .I wish to know that whether this antenna is useful or not.i need your suggestion in my radiation pattern which is in the azumithal plane.

It's ok, if your antennna has good efficiency,i think it can reach the request.
I think radiation pattern is not so important in small antenna design. If S11 and efficiency are good, it can works.
Hi, I suggest you implement this antenna, then measure the antenna performance.
Sometimes, simulation is simulation, not real.
And, the size of ground plane affects the radiation patterns of your antenna. Maybe you should care it.
Good luck.

Hi,
Please check the following App Notes for PIFA,
