Phase Shifter designing PLz help

Hi,I am trying to design 3-bit switched or reflection-type phase shifter,but I got confused when I tried to design the lengths L1,L2 for 8-state I mean how can I determine the lenghs for L1,L2 ,the angle for each state ,I am using PIN diodes
Please give me anything(books,website,lecture notes,ur advice.

can you tell me the frequency at which you are desigining the phase shifter? because the components may be lumped or distributed depending on the frequency of operation.

The lengths (for a switched type) will only be another expression of the delay that the signal will experience when passing through the line. You can calculate these by equating lambda (wavelength) = 2*pi radians and finding the length for a particular delay. For example, a length of lambda/4 is equivalent to 90 deg or pi/4 rad.

Depending on how much of a shift you need, you can design the lines..
