hai all,
I would like to design a antenna for wifi 802.11g system with data rate greater than 24Mb/s.
now my Q? is what should be my antenna gain, in order to cover the 50 meter distance.

The free-space path loss for this distance and frequency is approximately 75dB.
Including some other extra losses and assuming a -80dBm receiver sensitivity for 24Mb/s, and +18dBm transmitter output power, a 0 dB antenna gain would be fine to get the link.
thnak you very much, could plz tell me how u calculated? coz i very new to these sort of things , and what ever u have taken are IEEE standards?

An excellent reference! Thanks vfone!
