Voltage measurements on an IC pin

时间:04-10 整理:3721RD 点击:
Hello everyone,
I wanted to know if there's a detrimental effect of some kind if I measure the voltage coming in or going out of an IC pin if I measure it with a multimeter, meaning is there a chance of me reading a wrong voltage if I measure this way? I'm seeing something like this with my measurements with an RF receiver IC (Linx RXM-916-ES).
Any insights?

As always, any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Ananth.

I don 't think there's a detrimental effect of some kind if you measure the voltage coming in or going out of an IC pin

If the pin has RF present, you could measure the wrong value easily..

there is a possibility that it may occur... it depends on the impedance of the IC pin and the impedance of the multimeter you are using....
it would mainly depend on what output the IC pin is giving and what kind of load is connected to it because the input impedance of the multimeter for voltage measurement would have surely been made as high as possible...

Depend on the characteristic of the signal you're measuring... also the quality of the multi-meter playing a part as well.
