I am a final year BE student willing to perform research in the area of fibre optic communication. What are the softwares available in this field to work on modelling the fibre? Could u upload them pl.?
Also cud u pl tell me the research areas in this field?

if you want to study behavior of fiber, many people use C or C++ as a simulation software.
Just check whether ANSYS is used or not.

Hi,
I have worked upon Optisim...It is Univesity of California,Berkelay Licensed Copy and costly one..but it is worth and primarily used for Optical Network research.
optsim is good but it is too costly
Is there any evaluation version of Optisim available?
Demo version of Rsoft- CAD is available.
