Hello RF people,
I need to design an antenna covering Europe and Africa (multibeam) from a Satellite in GEO orbit.
1- Can anyone tell me the exact EU and Africa pointing directions (considering the antenna spherical reference system)?
2- Any idea on the antenna to use?
Regards,
Lupin

I would anticipate a non-parabolic, shaped reflector system for the antenna. That is not something that will be off the shelf anywhere.
How can one specify pointing angle without knowing which geosynchronous slot for the satellite?
The position of the GEO satellite is 21.5° E, 0° N...
Thanks in advance,
Lupin
For the type of antenna to use, you may consider a phased array. This will allow you to steer the beam(s) to cover any part of the continents necessary with high directivity
Can you tell me the angular aperture from which the GEO satellite sees the Europe and the Africa?
I don't expect "conical beams" (e.g. +/- 6.5 degrees for the Africa) ...

Lupin
