hfss surface acoustic

Some time ago I discussed about SAW filter simulation metodolgy with an epcos designer (epcos is one of the market leader in SAW filters). He told me thay have a unique self-made simulator (that have been developped with a LARGE number of months/man job), and that common electromagnetic simulators are not well suited for surface "acoustic" waves.

I would be very surprised if HFSS was able to model a SAW device. The tool does not include acoustic effects. Unless they have added some new interface to a new package you should probably look elsewhere.
