Dish antenna on a Synthetic aperture radar

I would like to know how the synthesized aperture would look like if a dish antenna is used for the syntheic aperture radar? How do we determine azimuth resolution of SAr in the case of a dish antenna? Is it possible to electronically reduce the effective size of the antenna?
