can mobile be charged by sending RF waves to charge the batt
can mobile be charged by sending RF waves to charge the battery..?
i have heard about the repetors with no battry and thay get the power from the incomming signals to operate its circuit.
can any one take idea to charge a mobile battery through RF .?

Thats probably hard to do...
real on-air signals coming from RBS/BTS of different areas and providers are spurious once it is fired from its antenna to space.
for example you mobile can tx at 2100MHz and rx at 1800MHz, you probably could only get less than 20% of its energy, if I'm not mistaken
well prob impossible
Hi Rony
Can you provide more info on this , a repeater means a GSM/CDMA repeater ?
or are you referring to backscatter like in RFID passive tag.
to your question , the normal signal available on air will not be sufficient to produce enough power (Voltage or current) to charge battery. If you intent to use a seperate high power RF source for this application , its thinkable.......:D

repeator means a simple repeator to any transmiter in citizan band even. this trick is mostly used in spying.
the repeator placed on the road in a car provides the supply to a small transimitter inside a house. and the sounds from the house can be get in to tht receiver- repeator. and where it can be recorded. or transmitted further with high power.
hope this helps friends to find out something like this.

That is only possible if frequency is KHz. say 125KHz RFID technology
Passive tags, that are powered by the reader are used in any RFID standard, from 125 kHz to 2.4 GHz. The operation distance is however limited in any case.
interesting issue, right?Maybe,in the future,we can solve the problem that we meet
thanks for rising the issue. personally have been thinking of tx of power without the grid.
to your quiz,i am confident this is posible. basing my aguement on voltage multipliers. this will act as controlled rectification and relies mostly on delaying nature of capacitance. you may say that this will only amplify the voltage but, this o/p fed to an oscilator ,its current can inductivelly be increaesed thus getting enough power to charge the bat.
being a Bio-Medical eng. student ,i however am worried of the physiolgical effect of the low frequency power convertion to humanity.
as i have said the trick about the usage of thsi kinda trick in spying. is very old -- befiore some one could think about an RFID tag. so there is not any concern to the RF ID with this topi
again refreshing the question in otehr manner ---- with a powerfull transmitter is it possible to charge the battry( or provide power.. any how ) to a low wattage transmitter to run .?
this trick is very well used in spying since last .. say -- 50 years.
think, friends.. again with this fresh thaught...
hope some one will get the click. soon..

actually that must be photovoltaic effect as solar cell works in physics(even if it works on photons)

Guys ! Something out of the box....
